1. Go to Settings > Mobile network settings > Access Point Names.2. Now create an new Access Point Name.
3. The only two fields that are required to fill up are "Name" and "APN" fields. Write anything you want, it doesn't matter.
4. Fill them and save the new APN you just created.

Now enable mobile data connection and see if you are receiving any net connection.

The samsung galaxy grand after its launch in December 2012 has had a lot of developments. It was initially released with Android 4.1.2 and later got an official update to Android 4.2.2. However, after that there were no hopes of any further official updates to galaxy grand.

As expected, some very dedicated developers has brought a ton of custom ROMs, Kernels and other updates to this device. In simple words, it's developments are still very active. So here I narrate a list of "Most Famous Custom ROMs" for galaxy grand I9082L.

1. Ressurection Remix

Resurrection Remix the ROM has been based on AOKP, CM, PA,OMNI and original Remix ROM builds, this creates an awesome combination of performance, customization, power and the most new features, brought directly to your Device. XDA THREAD HERE! Its at the top because it is one of the most complete and stables kitkat roms out there. It also has nearly no bugs right now. Runs very smoothly in my device.

Browsing through the internet or tinkering with some WebCode is a daily thing to me. So, every now and then I have to enter some thaana text into some comment box or HTML code via my mobile phone. Therefore, I had to find a way to have a full Thaana keyboard. When I went to find out possible options on the internet, first thing I saw was Multiling O Keyboard which has a lot of foreign language keyboards built in it. It also supports Thaana and especially if you have a thaana font in your phone (which I do), you'll have no issues.

So, first thing first, the proceedure!

1. Install the keyboard from play store HERE
2. When you open the application, you will see steps to follow in order to setup the keyboard.
3. Once the initial setup is done, open the keyboard by going to new messages or any other text box.
4. Now press and host the "space button", you will see languages among other options. Slide your finger over it without lifting your finger. The UI is more of a sliding theme.
5. Among the regions, select "South Asian", you will now see "Dhivehi" in the list. Click it and you are done!!! Unless you see empty buttons on the keyboard where dhivehi letters are supposed to be. That means you don't have dhivehi font installed in your system.

You have two options to resolve this.

1. Install a font pack called MyAlpha HERE
2. Or follow the instructions to install dhivehi font in your phone HERE

When you are done, here is the look of the keyboard ;)

Wireless file management for your android havent been more easier. With ES File Explorer, its become a breeze. Infact, the FTP file server utility in ES File Explorer is my personal favourite to manage files on my android phone. What's best about it is that it provides a robust file manager and an ftp server to manage files on PC, right from the windows default file manager.

1. Connect your phone to the same wifi network as your laptop/PC. Or use wifi tethering feature to connect the PC to the phone.

2. Now choose Remote Manager in the menu

3. When you press the turn on button you will see an FTP url on screen. Enter this url on your PC file manager. It's that simple...

Android (Rooted): If your battery won't make it through the day, Greenify is a handy utility that will automatically hibernate battery hogging apps that linger in the background after you're finished using them. We tried it out, and it works like a charm.

Reader TexasRanger tipped us off to Greenify, and after giving it a whirl, I found that it really does help save my old Droid Bionic's battery from dying over the course of a day. Once installed, simply add the applications you want Greenify to hibernate when they move to the background, and let the app do its thing. At any time you can see the apps that have been hibernated, the apps that are running in the background, and any pending apps that Greenify will manage when you're finished using them. It's important to note that Greenify is not a task killer (which you shouldn't use anyway), and it doesn't "freeze" apps. The apps that Greenify hibernates are still usable if you want to switch to them, and you can still pass data to them as though they were running. When you switch back to them, it's like you never left. Greenify just keeps those apps from launching new background processes (a problem with task killers) and you don't have to unfreeze or thaw an app to use it when you want to (a problem with "frozen apps"). The developer, XDA member oasisfeng, describes how his app differs from task killers and utilities like Titanium Backup over at the XDA forums.

After trying out the app for a while and adding some of my common apps to the hibernation list, I definitely noticed an overall improvement in battery life. It did take maybe a beat or two longer than usual to bring those apps back out of hibernation, but that could have just been my device. We should note that hibernating apps that leverage push notifications and messages or alarms will make those apps not work. Plus, the free version of the app cannot hibernate system applications—the $3 "donation" version however, can. Hit the link below to read more about it, and give it a try.

We’ll learn today how we can gain root access on Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos GT -I9082 running on Android 4.1.2 or Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

The Method is Working Perfectly, I have tried it myself with no issues ;) BUT, proceed at your own risk! I will not be responsible for any damage caused to your phone!

Before we begin, I would like you guys to take some precautions.

While rooting your phone, please keep it in mind that the Root Process isn’t official and has nothing to deal with Google Inc and the device manufacturer, which is Samsung in our case. Follow the guide carefully to prevent any damages to the device as the method is completely custom.

Make sure that you have battery charged over 60 % and have backed up all your important Contacts, Call Logs & Messages. It is highly recommended in case of any mishap or data loss to backup all your important data. Also make sure that you use the original data cable to connect to your PC, other cable will cause problems.

Things you need to download:

1. Download The Grand Root Kit. - Get it Here
>>Philz Advanced Touch Recovery.tar.md5
>>SuperSu.zip
2. Download and install Samsung USB Drivers – Get Here

Rooting Proceedure

1. Boot your phone in the Download mode. In order to do so turn it off by pressing and holding the power key or by pulling out the battery for 30 seconds. Turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Down + Home Button + Power Key simultaneously. You should see a warning now, press Volume Up to continue.

Your phone is in download mode now.
2. Open ODIN, connect your phone to your PC using the original data cable which came inside the box.
The ID:COM box in the top left corner should turn blue or yellow depending upon your ODIN version now.
3. Select the PDA tab and select the downloaded Philz Touch Recovery.tar.md5 file here. Make sure that the selections in your ODIN are exactly as shown below.

4. Click start, it should take a few seconds while your phone restarts, as soon as it shows the ”PASS” status remove your phone from the PC and pull out the battery for a few seconds. Put it back and now turn it in booting into the recovery mode by pressing Volume Up + Home Button + Power Key.
And you have the CWM recovery installed on your Galaxy Grand Duos!

Now here’s how you can root your Galaxy Grand Duos:

1. Place the downloaded SuperSu.zip in your external SD.
2. Now boot your phone into the recovery mode. In order to do so, press and hold the Volume Up + Home Button + Power Key simultaneously. Your phone should now boot into recovery mode.
3. In recovery mode select “Install Zip>Install Zip from Sdcard”, and select the placed SuperSu.zip file and select yes after it.
4. That’s all, it will take a very short time to flash SuperSu. After the process is done, reboot your device and find SuperSu installed in App Drawer.

YOUR GALAXY GRAND IS ROOTED XD

It is a simple task to install dhivehi fonts in some of these android devices which doesn't support Thaana by default. Here I have explained two possible ways to install thaana font on almost any android device. Knock yourself out ;)

1. Manually inserting font file in to the system fonts

Requirements:

ROOTED phone
Root File Explorer
DroidSans.ttf font

Download Package (.zip)

On top of root explorer there will be a button called Mount R/O = read/only .. presss it and changes to R/W = read/write! Now it will allow you to paste the new font with Thaana support and over write the system font. I suggest you make a copy of the original file first, in case anything goes wrong. Replace the font file you downloaded with the existing DroidSansFallback.ttf font in the system fonts folder of your phone. You are done!!!! :)
